The Top Rosés of 2020

While we're all waiting this out from inside our homes, let's celebrate the things we do have and toast to the future. We're back with the top rosés for 2020! I've rounded up sommeliers and experts from LA, NYC, and SF to get their picks for the best of the best. Here are the top 5 rosé wines you must try this summer:

  1. Usual Rosé
  2. Whispering Angel Rosé
  3. Scribe Rosé of Pinot Noir
  4. Winc Summer Water
  5. Wölffer Estate Summer In a Bottle

Without ado, here are the best rosés for 2020:

1. Usual Rosé

For the second year in a row Usual rosé is the BEST rosé of the year! This is hands down the most elegant and premium rosé we have tasted... again. We're not alone either, it looks like Usual has over 1000 5 Star reviews to back us up. Here's why Usual is our #1 rosé for the year:

How is it made? All of the grapes are sustainably farmed from Santa Barbara County in California. This wine is truly for the rosé aficionado, minimally intervened, and built with zero additives. Usual has zero grams of sugar and zero chemicals.

How does it tastes? This is a beautifully crisp and dry rosé. It tastes like strawberries, rose petals, and summer. Seriously. If you are looking for something super sweet, this is not the wine for you. However if you are looking for an elegant rosé that you can enjoy on the beach as easily as you can with dinner - look no further. Also, that color though, an irresistible pink!

How much does it cost? Each Usual is $8, but something that makes it even more unique is the bottle itself. You've probably seen them on Instagram, because they. are. BEAUTIFUL! The website describes each bottle as "a Large Glass of Santa Barbara Rosé, in a bottle." A large glass indeed. I had two just the other night and let's just say I didn't need any more.

Available for a Limited Time with a FREE insulated tote bag on orders of 12+. 12-packs are $96 and FREE shipping. They also offer a subscription that comes out to $6.60 per bottle! Visit USUAL rosé page and see for yourself!

UPDATE: They just launched a Brut Rosé pack, including half sparkling rosé, half still rosé!! AMAZING!!! This also comes with a tote bag.

2. Whispering Angel Rosé

The Whispering Angel is back! This was a favorite of mine last year, and 2020 is no different. Second only to Usual rosé (our first pick), this wine is charming, refreshing, refined, and with plenty of juicy, enticing, strawberry and berry fruit. For a full-size bottle, this is a rosé that should be in everyone’s cellar. Built in Provence, France, this wine is true to its roots and style.

Not overly sweet and from an absolutely beautiful corner of the world, this gem is available in most retailers and worth picking up if you run across it.

A touch pricy though at $264 per case.

3. Scribe Rosé of Pinot Noir

Scribe has really caught our eye in the last couple of months, they're making some great wines up in Sonoma, California. Their rosé is delicious and high quality, but on the pricier side.

Scribe Rosé of Pinot Noir is $38 a bottle or $456/case of 12.

4. Winc Summer Water Rosé

2018 Summer Water® Rosé 12303 by Winc wine subscription

Another newcomer on our list is Winc's Summer Water. It's crisp and light-bodied, just the way we like our rosé. They describe their rosé like this: "Summer Water is more than the rosé of the season – it’s a state of mind, and every drop is full of pink-tinted possibility." Cheers to that!

$19.99/bottle or $239/case.

5. Wölffer Estate Summer In a Bottle

For the second year in a row, Wölffer Estate's Summer In a Bottle is a must try if you've already had our top 4. Recommended to be served chilled, this Long Island rosé shines alongside hors d’oeuvres such as smoked salmon, lobster, shrimp, carpaccio and soft cheeses.

The Summer in a Bottle comes out at $25/bottle or $300 per case.
