For the second year in a row Usual rosé is the BEST rosé of the year! This is hands down the most elegant rosé we have tasted... again. We're not alone either, it looks like Usual has over 600x 5 Star reviews to back us up. Here's why Usual is our #1 rosé for the year:
How is it made? All of the grapes are sustainably farmed from the picturesque Santa Barbara County in California. This wine is truly for the rosé aficionado, minimally intervened, and built with zero additives. That means NO added sugar, no chemicals, and no more headaches!!
How does it tastes? This is a beautifully crisp and dry rosé. It tastes like strawberries, rose petals, and summer. Seriously. If you are looking for something super sweet, this is not the wine for you. However if you are looking for an elegant rosé that you can enjoy on the beach as easily as you can with dinner - look no further. Also, that color though, an irresistible pink!
How much does it cost? Each Usual is $8, but something that makes it even more unique is the bottle itself. You've probably seen them on Instagram, because they. are. BEAUTIFUL! The website describes each bottle as "a Large Glass of Santa Barbara Rosé, in a bottle." A large glass indeed. I had two just the other night and lets just say I didn't need any more.
UPDATE: To answer a few questions, this is only available online, it is not in stores yet. Also, for everyone asking about the pool float - check out below! Get it while it lasts, I'm on my second order!
2. Whispering Angel Rosé
The Whispering Angel is back! This was a favorite of mine last year, and 2019 is no different. Second only to Usual rosé (our first pick), this wine is charming, refreshing, refined, and with plenty of juicy, enticing, strawberry and berry fruit. For a full-size bottle, this is a rosé that should be in everyone’s cellar.
Caves d’esclans is the negociant and vinificateur for the wine, and you can tell they've really gone out year after year to source the highest quality grapes for their rosé. Built in Provence, France, this wine is true to its roots and style.
Not overly sweet and from an absolutely beautiful corner of the world, this gem is available in most retailers and worth picking up if you run across it.
The Rosé Collection (by VINEBOX) is downright beautiful and delicious! We can't say it any better than Bustle did ➜ "The Rosé Box Is Full Of Chilled Wines & Looks Like A Millennial Pink Rainbow!" Ummm, yes please.
This really is the Ultimate Summer Wine Collection. With one easy order you get 6 exquisite rosés, all sourced by the geniuses over at VINEBOX, so you can try rosé from France, Italy, and Spain. Turns out they're all very very good.
This is such an incredible gift too, I bought one, loved it, then bought them for all my friends. From the source, "pairs well with sunshine, tanlines, and not giving a $%!&"!
Get it while you can, these don't last long. 6x wines for only $49.
A newcomer on the list for 2019, Wölffer Estate's Summer In a Bottle is a must try if you've already had our top 3. Recommended to be served chilled, it shines alongside hors d’oeuvres such as smoked salmon, lobster, shrimp, carpaccio and soft cheeses.
The Summer in a Bottle comes out at $25/bottle or $300 per case.
Blackbird Vineyards is one of my favorite producers in California. All of their wines are generally spectacular, and the Arriviste rosé is no exception. The winemaker sums this one up as "a sophisticated, salmon-pink colored rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot ... the wine enchants with richly textured flavors of tart cherry, crisp red apple, and citrus on the mid-palate, carrying clean minerality and bright acidity on the lingering finish."
Similar to the Apriori above, bottles are $29 and a case rings in just under $360.
